Limited Lifetime Warranty

This warranty covers manufacturing defects in your Sofa or Sectional frame. If your sofa frame fails due to a manufacturing defect we will repair or replace the piece at our discretion. Replacement of one piece does not automatically constitute the replacement of the other piece(s). This limited warranty is provided to the original purchaser at the original place of delivery. It is not transferable. The warranty covers the frame only. It does not cover normal wear and use of the cushions and fabric. Sofa beds, feathers and fabrics will have a limited life span that depends greatly on use by the consumer, and are not part of our lifetime warranty. Foam cushions are covered by the warranty as noted below under “Cushions”.

This warranty does not apply to furniture intentionally misused, or to damage resulting from negligence, exposure, rental or commercial use, improper cleaning, or other unreasonable use, or to fabric damage or failure due to additional chemical treatment, improper cleaning, or when heavy soiling, pet hair, pet damage or abuse is evident. These warranties are not transferable. The warranty is offered to the original purchaser at the original delivery address.

In The Event Of Defects

If a needed repair is covered under the warranty, covered repairs will be completed within a reasonable amount of time. If a product is more than a year old, the original purchaser is responsible for costs incurred in shipping and labor for repair. We maintain a network of over 250 technicians throughout the United States to handle our warranty issues. Please contact us at info@BuildASofa.com whenever you have an issue you think might be covered by warranty.

To the original retail purchaser, we extend PRORATED protection against abnormal loss of resiliency of the upholstered furniture for three (3) years, as long as it is used under normal wear and other normal conditions.  Abnormal wear and abnormal loss of resiliency should not be confused with softening and flattening of the foam and fibers, which are considered normal wear, and are not defects. Compressing of polyurethane foam with use is not considered loss of resiliency. It is very important that you regularly flip your cushions over (even back cushions) to get more even wear.

All of the fabrics that we use at BuildASofa are warrantied by the fabric producer (not BuildASofa) to be free from defects for a period of one year. It is important that the buyer takes good care of the fabric on their purchase. Regular dusting with a soft brush and a generally clean living environment will go a long way to giving a lifetime of great looking furniture. There is no warranty on fabrics with the presence of pets in the household. Claims due to stains, soiling, burns, cuts and the use of after market fabric protectants will void the manufacturers warranty on fabrics. Pilling (the exfoliation of excess fibers coming off of the fabric) is not covered by warranty. Pilling is not a sign of a fabric wearing out or coming apart. It is a natural process of certain fabrics. Do not lay blankets (or throws or pet protectors) on your sofa. This can cause pilling from the two fabrics rubbing together.
